The national broadcaster of Albania RTSH has began the call for songs for their upcoming national selection and local music display, the Festivali i Këngës.

For those interested in entering the selection, RTSH has outlined the following rules for submissions; Applications are open to local artists, writers and composers and entries must be sent in CD format accompanied by the lyrics of the song. Artists and composers can only submit only one song, whilst lyricists are able to be involved in up to two songs. A professional jury will be in charge of processing and evaluating the submissions before the cut off date, October 17th, 2012.

As per usual, the Festivali i Këngës will take place in late December, over several nights at the Pallati i Kongreseve in the Albanian capital, Tirana. Albania was one of the first countries to confirm their participation in the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest, almost immediately after the final of Eurovision 2012 in Baku.

Stay tuned for the latest updates from Albania!
