Anja Nissen: “Incredible to get on the other side of a dream”

After a disappointing second place in Denmark last year, Australia’s Anja Nissen now did win the national final and gets to represent Denmark in Kiev. “It feels incredible to get on the other side of a dream,” she told ESC Daily when the show was over.

“Ever since I was young I set goals for myself, and doing Eurovision is one of them,” Anja told our reporter Allie Lindo in our interview which you can see below. “To reach your goal, that feeling is indescribable. It makes you feel like you can do anything.”

It feels like a redemption for Anja. “I was not expecting to win, because I did not want to set myself up for something high and then it would not happen. That is what I did last year. I am not as well known in Denmark as I am in Australia, now it feels like I have been accepted. It makes me proud.”
