Armenia: Iveta Mukuchyan selected for Stockholm

Iveta Mukuchyan will represent Armenia at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest. Broadcaster ARMTV today announced her participation in Stockholm 2016.

Mukuchyan is a singer-songwriter, but she will probably not write her own Eurovision entry. Instead, the Armenian Public TV Company has announced an open contest for songwriters from all over the world. Entries can be submitted by e-mail to selection@armtv.com no later than November 13. The Voice of Germany
Iveta Mukuchyan was born in 1986 in Armenia. She lived in Germany between the ages of 5 and 25, and even participated in “The Voice of Germany” in 2012, reaching all the way to the live shows. However, currently she lives in Yerevan, where she studied at the State Conservatory after Komitas.

‘I love Eurovision and it’s amazing to get a chance to represent my country on the big stage,’ Mukuchyan stated on the Armenian Eurovision website. ‘Your support is very important to me, so I hope you will be next to me on this responsible and important journey.’
