Eldar Gasimov won last years’ Eurovision Song Contest in Dusseldorf, with his singing partner Nikki Jamal and their ballad “Running Scared”. After making a return to the contest as one of the three hosts this year, he has finally released his first music video, for the song “I’m Free”. You can hear it below:

The dance track has been written by Eldar himself along with DJ Aligee and Rasif Babayev, whilst the production was handled by Farid Mamedov. Commenting on the song and his new direction, Eldar says “I want move from the image of “a one hit wonder” as it often happens to the winners of various music contests. Moreover, since the hit “Running Scared” was performed as a duo, it is only half mine. There are so many things I want to tell my audience as a solo artist.”.

The music video for the song has gathered over 15,000 hits in just a few days. Now managed by Ukrainian show business specialists “Euromedia group” (who are responsible for Azerbaijan’s past successes in Eurovision), the video has been shot in Kyiv this summer. Over the past few days Eldar has also been back in Azerbaijan heavily promoting the track to TV viewers.

As well as a singer and TV host, Gasimov is also set to make his debut on the big screen in the movie “Don’t be scared, I’m with you” (Part 2), directed by Julian Gusman. The film will be released at the end of the year.
