Nikki Jamal, winner of last years’ Eurovision Song Contest in Düsseldorf has today released a duet with Danish singer Karen Viuff – performing the latter’s Eurovision selection entry, “Universe”.
Seventeen year old Viuff competed in Denmark’s national selection “Dansk Melodi Grand Prix” with the song, however not advancing past the first round. Meanwhile, Nikki was part of the Azerbaijani jury for the show which had a 10% impact in the result during the show’s superfinal. Having heard the nine songs in the competition, she and her producer liked Karen’s song and so contacted her to create a duet – who immediately said yes.
The cross-border collaboration was produced by Boe Larsen and Isa Melikov. “Universe” was written by Larson, Lise Cabble and Simon Borch whilst the video was directed by Kristian Mathiassen and edited by Fuad Alishev.
The duet is also featured on Nikki’s album “Play With Me”, along with a duet with Eurovision 2008 winner Dima Bilan titled “Come Into My World”.
