Belarus: “NAVI goes all out for a top 10 result in neighbour country Ukraine”

Belarus has only made it to the top-10 of the Eurovision Song Contest on one occasion, back in 2007. This year, with the contest being held in their neighbour country Ukraine, they really want to get a good result again, states our editor Sadie Trent.

Sadie reported on the final in Minsk last Friday and could really see the eagerness to achieve something in May. She told us in this weeks episode of the podcast Scout Around. “I think Belarus this year are trying to go all out to get a top-10 result in Ukraine. The nations all around them have done very well in recent years, but Belarus has not. If the focus lies on the staging, NAVI band could do extremely well.”

Their song “Historyja majho žyccia” could give Belarus a good chance in Kiev, Sadie thinks. “NAVI have performed in Ukraine before and they want to perform there really well. It is a joyful song and I think that it will be place well. The stage in Kiev, compared to the one in Belarus, will however be huge. They need to get the correct staging.”
