Anja Nissen: “Incredible to get on the other side of a dream”

After a disappointing second place in Denmark last year, Australia’s Anja Nissen now did win the national final and gets to represent Denmark in Kiev. “It feels incredible to get on the other side of a dream,” she told ESC Daily when the show was over.

Denmark: DR to reveal the 10 solo artists this Thursday

The ten solo participants in DMGP 2017 are to be revealed this Thursday the 19th of January, with Denmark selecting their Eurovision entrant on February the 25th. A record of 1,115 songs were submitted to compete in this years Danish selection, even though they missed out on the final in 2015 and 2016.

Denmark: National final returns to Herning

Danish broadcaster DR has announced that the national final of DMGP will be held on Saturday the 25th of February. The show will be hosted in the city of Herning, which last staged the Danish final in 2013.

Aftermath 2016 (8): Sweden only Nordic powerhouse left

At Eurovision 2016, the myth of the influence of so called “bloc voting” was debunked once again. From Scandinavia, only host nation Sweden was in the grand final. Frans gave the reigning country another top 5 result with “If I were sorry”.

Denmark: ‘Anja Nissen was heartbroken by the result’

To much surprise, Lighthouse X was favored over Anja Nissen to win the Danish national final this week. Our reporter Brandon McCann was at the scene in Denmark and saw Australian Anja Nissen after the show: “I could tell that she was slightly heartbroken by the result.”
