The starting order for the 58th edition of the Swedish music competition Melodifestivalen has been announced by broadcaster SVT. The big preselection will once again be used to select the Eurovision Song Contest act for Sweden.

San Marino has revealed the full list of participants for its national final. Eleven artists will take part, who together possess no less than nine different nationalities. Only one of the participants comes from San Marino.
Alex Florea, who represented Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017, will try to go to the contest again in 2018. He takes part in the upcoming preselection. Another former Eurovision-artist on the list is Mihai (ESC2006).
Broadcaster RTVSLO has announced the 16 participating artists in EMA 2018, the Slovenian preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. ManuElla and Tanja Ribic return to the stage to represent Slovenia again.
Operación Triunfo, the Spanish talent show, will function as Spain’s selection method for Eurovision 2018. The final date and format details are yet to be announced.
Emma Sandström, who placed third at the Finnish UMK 2017 with “Circle of Light”, has received the first wildcard for a national final in San Marino. The other two wildcards will be handed out to two artists out of no less than 1050 submitted entries.

SVT announced David Lindgren as the host for the 58th edition of Melodifestivalen this morning. Lindgren returns to the Melfest stage solo after sharing hosting duties with Clara Henry and Hasse Andersson earlier this year.
Romania will pick their act for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in the style of the Swedish preselection show format Melodifestivalen. There will be five qualification shows and one grand final. Each show will be hosted in a different city in Romania.
