Sweden: David Lindgren to host Melodifestivalen 2018

SVT announced David Lindgren as the host for the 58th edition of Melodifestivalen this morning. Lindgren returns to the Melfest stage solo after sharing hosting duties with Clara Henry and Hasse Andersson earlier this year.

Romania: Preselection in a format like Melodifestivalen

Romania will pick their act for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in the style of the Swedish preselection show format Melodifestivalen. There will be five qualification shows and one grand final. Each show will be hosted in a different city in Romania.

Sweden: SVT confirms dates and venues for Melodifestivalen 2018

Swedish broadcaster SVT has revealed the dates and cities where the six Melodifestivalen 2018 shows will be held next year. As usual, the grand final will be held at Friends Arena in Stockholm, on the 10th of March.

Sweden: Almost 2800 songs submitted for Melodifestivalen 2018

A total of 2771 songs have been submitted for Melodifestivalen 2018. Swedish broadcaster SVT have revealed that the total number of songs submitted for next year’s Melodifestivalen is 2771. Out of these, 2324 have been submitted to the Ordinary competition, and 447 to the General competition.
