Eurovision 2017: Head of NTU Zurab Alasania resigns

The head of state broadcaster NTU in Ukraine has resigned from his position as general director. Zurab Alasania has decided to step down because the broadcaster is not compensated by its government for the costs of hosting Eurovision.

Kiev will host Eurovision on 9, 11, 13 May 2017

Kiev will host the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. Ukranian broadcaster NTU has just announced that in a special press conference. The preliminary dates for the contest (9-11-13 May) have also been confirmed by a press officer of the EBU.

Eurovision 2017: “President Poroshenko will decide the host city”

According to press agency Interfax, president Petro Poroshenko and prime minister Volodymyr Groysman will take over the decision to pick the host city for Eurovision 2017 from public broadcaster NTU. The announcement of the host city has been postponed four times in the last weeks and months.
