Cyprus: Christos Grigoriades to host national final

The CyBC has announced Christos Grigoriades will host the upcoming Cypriot national final to be held on January 25th, in the capital of Cyprus, Nicosia.

In an exclusive interview with OGAECyprus.com, Christos Grigoriades revealed that he is a fan of the Eurovision Song Contest. Christos is also member of the Cypriot OGAE fan club. He revealed that the upcoming Cypriot national final will be different than the previous ones as there won’t be any videos from the past Eurovision Contests shown. They will give the chance to the viewers to get to know more about Ivi Adamou and vote for their favorite song. You can read the interview (in Greek) here.

The live broadcast is to be held in Studio 3 of RIK, on Wednesday, January 25, 2012, where Ivi Adamou perform the three (3) nominated songs; La La Love, You Don’t Belong Here and Call the Police. The show will be broadcast live at 21:00 (local time) (20:00 CET) from RIK ENA with simulcast to satellite broadcasting and the CyBC Radio’s Third Programme. Additionally it will be broadcast from the CyBC’s official website at www.cybc.com.cy.

On January 25th, the song that will represent Cyprus in the 57th Eurovision Song Eurovision 2012, will be selected by public televote (50%) and an ‘expert’ jury (50%) appointed by the broadcaster. An external audit of the selection process will be conducted by auditing firm KPMG.
