Greece: “Demy internally selected for Kiev 2017”

Demy will represent Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kiev. According to Greek journalist Gregory Melas, she has been internally selected by broadcaster ERT and will perform three songs in a national final.

Last week, Melas already claimed that she would take part in a national final, together with the duo Stereo Soul. Now it turns out ERT prefers her over the other act. Her songs will allegedly be written by Dimitris Kontopoulos.

Demy is the stage name of Dimitra Papadea, who has been making music since 2011 in the pop, R&B and dance genre and can be described as a diverse artist. ERT has yet to confirm the news that she will go to Kiev.

Rumours and gossip

Last year Melas was the first journalist to report about Utopian Land, the song that failed to bring Greece a place in the Grand Final. It was the first time Greece missed out of the Eurovision Final since the entry of the semi finals. Therefore his scoop might be true again this year, even though Greece remains a tough nation to follow. Every year is filled with gossip and rumours that turn out to be untrue.
