Denmark: “Melodi Grand Prix” final tonight

Tonight from the Gigantium Arena in Aalborg, “Dansk Melodi Grand Prix” will take place, the competition which will choose the Danish representative for Eurovision 2012. The show, which will be hosted by Emil Thurop and Louise Wolff will begin at 20.00 CET, and is scheduled to end at around 22.15 CET. Nine songs will take part, after one entry was disqualified.

09. Christian Brøns & Patrik Isaksson – Venter

The winner will be chosen after two voting sessions in a main round, and a ‘superfinal‘. In the main round, all nine contenders will perform, which the Danish public and jury will vote on; each having a 50% impact on the result. Then, the top 3 songs from the main round will proceed to the superfinal. In the superfinal, the viewers will have a 50% stake in the result, whilst international jury‘s votes will account for 40% and the Danish jury taking the remaining 10%.

Last year’s Danish participants, band “A Friend in London” will perform along with Backstreet Boys member Howie D during the interval, whilst Eurovision 2009 winner Alexander Rybak will perform a medley of Eurovision classics.
