Denmark: National final on February 13th

Denmark will choose its representative for the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest during Melodi Grand Prix, to take place on 13 February in Horsens’ Forum. In the past, the venue hosted both Melodi Grand Prix as well as concerts of Depeche Mode, Neil Young, Dolly Parton and the Austrian ‘king of schlager’ Hansi Hinterseer.

Song writers and composers can still send in songs until the 7th of September, tickets for the show will go on sale on the 2nd of November. A week later, on the 20th of February, Danish national broadcaster DR will host its youth competition MGP at Horsens as well.

In 2014, Denmark hosted the Eurovision Song Contest for the second time after the 2013 victory of ‘Only teardrops’. Denmark’s 2015 entry The Way You Are, performed by the group Anti Social Media, came 13th in the first Semi-Final, and thus didn’t make it to the Grand Final. Now, Denmark wants to win in Sweden again, with the help of Cutfather!
