You can learn more about them and read the interview below;

EscDaily: Hello Paula, Hello Ovi – thank you for taking your precious time to answer our questions. This year you are the representatives of Romania in the Eurovision Song Contest. How did you feel when you won the National Final?
Paula: It was one of the happiest days, like a dream coming true. I had to pinch myself to make sure I was not dreaming. That whole week was unbelievable, everybody was talking about our song, about our performance, I received many phone calls of support and it looked like all these years of working and studying have reached to something great. It was amazing!
Ovi: It was a great feeling! The hard work of almost four months has finally paid off! We believed a lot in our song and the voting results showed that people also loved this song. At the same time for me was quiet a special experience, since it was my first participation in Romania for Eurovision as a composer and artist, and to win the whole thing, together with Paula, it was very fulfilling. The rest was glam, spotlights and lot’s of attention from media. But all this belongs to the Eurovision phenomenon, after all.
EscDaily: Can you please tell us more about your song “Playing with fire”?
Paula: The song was written by Ovi (music and lyrics), and it was created starting from the idea of a musical fight at two pianos, as both of us have studied classical music in the past. The whole song is created to emphasise the idea energy, it spreads the sparkles coming from the mixture of love and fight that every couples have. We have some sort of a duel in piano and vocal techniques and we are sure that this will please the ones who listen to our song.
EscDaily: Are you satisfied with the preparations so far? What can we expect on the Eurovision stage from you?
Paula: As the concept of a fight at two pianos is the one that actually started the whole project, we will stick to that in Oslo, too, and we will have some other elements that would bring more energy and power on stage.
Ovi: Yes, I subscribe to what Paula just said. Basically we’ll try to take the concept to the next level, a bit bigger, more fireworks
more glam and some fine tuning here and there where it needs. A better performance and show, overall.
EscDaily: What do you think of your opponents?
Paula: The level of the competition is very high, me, personally, I like many of the songs.
Ovi: As usual many good songs, though I’m surprised of how many countries ended up (by pure coincidence) sending ballads. Not necessarily a bad thing for us

EscDaily: Apart from your own song, who is your personal favorite in this years’ Eurovision Song Contest?
Paula: We like the song from Denmark.
Ovi: Agree on this one and I personally fancy also Ireland’s entry. Nice ballad and voice performance.
EscDaily: And tell me please, what is your favorite Eurovision song ever?
Paula: Definitely Waterloo, from ABBA.
Ovi: Same here and I will add Rybak’s song from last year.
EscDaily: What will you do if you win Eurovision 2010?
Paula: I will be the happiest person on Earth. It would be like a fairytale
Ovi: I will have a week on the sun in Greece, celebrating with the whole team, Paula&Co!!
EscDaily: Recently you shot a video to your ESC entry “Playing with fire”. Could you tell us a little bit more about the video and the story behind it?
Paula: The video takes place in the future, Ovi and I, we play the role of couple that solves a domestic fight by taking it into the virtual world. They choose their avatars and start a virtual fight in the computer game, as plane pilots, then as fighters, then dancers in a tango scene.
Ovi: I could just add the special filming technique called “motion capture” which is a very new way of filming that was newly used by James Cameroon in Avatar. Also the use of a very special technique, a gyroscopic stabilization of video camera.
EscDaily: What are your plans after Eurovision? Will you record more songs together?
Paula: Yes, sure, we have decided to record an album together.
Ovi: Yes and besides that I will have my own album which includes the track Playing with fire (featuring Paula) released in Norway, Romania and other european countries. Looking very much forward to the next duet with Paula. We’ve discussed a bit about which direction the next song should be, but we haven’t got the time yet to sit down and write the actual song. When all this Eurovision craziness will be over, we’ll look in to that!
EscDaily: Thank you really much for this interview. We really appreciate it. Good luck in Oslo! We hope to see you in the final!
Paula:Thank you very much, we hope that, too. Wishing you all the best!
Ovi: Like-wise and let’s hope that we all will meet in Bucharest in May 2011 ![]()
