Two Eurovision-related artists are reported to be trying out for the very popular, British edition of X Factor.
Donna McCaul, whom along with her brother Joseph won Irish talent show “You’re a Star” and went on to participate in Eurovision 2005, with the song “Love”. Joe has since stopped singing professionally, but Donna has continued and has recently launched a solo career. In the past few months, she has been reportedly auditioned for the British version of X-Factor, where auditions are also held in Dublin for Irish singers to take part. It’s not known whether she had the chance to perform in front of the judges or not.
Another Eurovision related singer is Romanian popstar Dalma Kovacs. She participated in Romania’s national final in the past two years, with the songs “Love was never her friend” and “I’m Running”, placing 6th (in a field of 12) and =13th (in a field of 16). She auditioned for the X-Factor a few months back in London, and has returned this week to partake in the “bootcamp” stage of the show.
The audition stages of X-Factor are shown from August, on ITV and online. We wish good luck to Dalma in the contest! Here is her song from the 2010 Romanian final, “I’m Running”.
