First ESC 2015 tickets sold out quickly

The first wave of tickets for the shows of the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna have been sold out within an hour. People who failed to get tickets now have to wait until January for the next round of available tickets.

On Social Media there are many happy reactions from people who got able to get their tickets for May. There are also a lot of people who got unlucky and criticize the way the tickets are being sold. Event Supervisor Sietse Bakker says on his personal Twitter account: “With many more people who want tickets, more than available tickets, there are always disappointed people unfortunately.”

The EBU emphasizes to the disappointed people without tickets to wait for the next round in January and to not buy tickets from unofficial channels at a higher rate.

  1. I appreciate there will always be more potential buyers than available tickets, but it really would’ve helped if the website wasn’t so impenetrable. There were categories that showed up as still having availability, but were still greyed-out and unable to be selected. It would have been a less frustrating experience if they could at least been clearer about why I couldn’t attempt to buy those ones.
