France: Broadcaster will select internally again

Broadcaster France 2 will once again select the French Eurovision act internally. There will however be an open call for songs this year, starting today, according to a tweet from Head of Delegation Edoardo Grassi.

Grassi took over control of the French delegation at the start of last season. France wanted to break a streak of bad results, and managed to do so: Amir reached a 6th place in the final in Stockholm despite criticism on his live vocal performance. It was the first top 10 result for France since Patricia Kaas in 2009.

Members of the public are asked to submit their own songs through a portal on the France 2 website. At the same time, France 2 will start a search with established artists and record labels.
