Junior Eurovision: Isabella Clarke to represent Australia

Australian broadcaster ABC announced that Isabella Clarke will fly the flag for Australia at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Tbilisi, Georgia. Her song for the contest will be announced in the coming weeks.

Isabella is 13 years old and hails from Victoria. Currently, she holds the converted principle role in the Victorian State schools Spectacular.

According to industry experts from record companies in Australia, Isabella is hotly tipped for a very bright future. She was selected in consultation with major record companies along with ABC and their production partner Blink TV.

Bella Paige and Alexa Curtis

Isabella follows in the footsteps of Bella Paige and Alexa Curtis, who represented Australia in the previous two editions of Junior Eurovision. One major difference between the three is the fact that Isabella Clarke did not participate in The Voice Kids.

On all three occassions, however, SBS chose for a female singer with a relatively mature voice and style. Experts therefore expect that Isabella, like her predecessors, will sing a modern pop ballad.

Isabella said the following after discovering she would represent Australia:

I’m so honoured to have the opportunity to represent Australia at such an amazing event. I can’t wait to start rehearsals and film the music video! I’m also looking forward to visiting Georgia for the first time and meeting all the other performers. I hope I do my family and Australia proud.
