After another disappointing result for Israel in 2012, local press is announcing that the public broadcaster (IBA) is preparing a great show to select their entry for the next edition of Europe’s TV favourite show.

Two months ago, on June 12, it was announced that Israel will be in Malmö, and they were already thinking about their plans to select their entry. According to reports, it seems that IBA has just finished thinking about their selection process and it’s been reported that a show with 30 participants in 3 semifinals will be followed by a final in 2013. It’s planned to be broadcasted next year in January or February.

All that has been said so far is that the broadcaster wants to prepare a great show, with the same glamour of some of the Scandinavian preselections, where 10 singers will compete in each of the 3 semifinals, with 3 qualifiers per semifinal plus a wildcard finalist, making a final of 10.

IBA aims to prepare the show in the most professional way possible, to attract a largest number of viewers and voters. So, an amount of $2.000.000 USD will be available to fund the selection.

In 2012, the band IZABO represented Israel with the song Time, but failed to qualify to the Eurovision Song Contest.
