The Armenian representative of 2011, Emmy Bejanyan, has joined ESCDaily.com in order to review the 13 finalists of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2011, held in her home city; Yerevan, Armenia!

Emmy represented Armenia this past May with her pop-tune ‘Boom-Boom’ in the Eurovision Song Contest held in Düsseldorf, Germany! Emmy has already met some of the contestants during this week’s rehearsals and has given us her exclusive insight into the 13 entries this year.

Part one of her reviews covers Russia, Latvia, Moldova, Armenia, Bulgaria, Lithuania and Ukraine.

Check out Emmy’s Junior Eurovision reviews below;

Russia

Katya Ryabova – Romeo and Juliet

First of all I would say that the contestant has a very positive and beautiful look, which adds up to her performance. The theme of the song is very catchy, as it is about Romeo and Juliet and even though it is in russian, everyone can understand the song somehow. It is very important for Junior Eurovision. She will succeed if she performs the same way as she performed in a couple of videos on Youtube. I wish all the male audience of Junior Eurovision a lot of patience, because you are going to enjoy a nice performance on the stage in December.

Latvia

Amanda Bashmakova – Moondog

Here we have a different style and theme. A slow melody which is soft and light but I am not positive it is the right type of song to present to the Junior Eurovision lovers. There has been cases of slow music in JESC which impressed many people but I’m personally for cheerful and dynamic beats. The song requires a pure timbre and our contestant has the right timbre for the song and the song’s instrumental.

Moldova

Lerika – No, No

Usually I’ve always enjoyed Moldovan songs. I have many friends in Moldova, and I know many composers who write good songs. For instance I’ve always enjoyed Doga’s compositions. Regarding Lerika’s entry, honestly I’m not too keen on the song or the outfit she’s wearing in the preselection video. She’s a very very cute girl with a great smile, but I hope to see a better presentation of her image at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Yerevan.

Armenia

Dalita – Welcome to Armenia

Regarding my country’s entry, I’ve always been present at all our national selections. My cousin has always taken part in the competition (with Do Re Mi), and because of that it’s always been very important for me to be supportive. I think Armenia has always had many many talented singers take part in both the national selections and at JESC. I’d like to mention all our previous entries, and the professionalism of all the singers who have taken part, and returned back home with great results. Arevik, Luara, and the charismatic and confident performance of Vladimir’s entry brought our country the victory that we were looking forward to for the past few years. I am sure Dalita will have a beautiful performance because of the professional team working with her. I don’t want to be biased with my country’s entry, but I’m sure we will rock!!! So Europe … Welcome to Armenia!

Bulgaria

Ivan Ivanov – Superhero

The song isn’t bad, and Ivan looks like a great performer with great potential, but I would like to see a just little more charisma in his performance of the song… And a smile definitely wouldn’t hurt :) After all this is a children’s song competition, and it should be a bit more happy!

Lithuania

Pauline Skrabyte – Debesys

I’m always happy when a child lives in musical environment, since it is scientifically proved that musical education helps humans to develop other fields as well, such as math, chemistry, physics and so on. In this video I see that one is playing the piano, three are the vocal background and you see that they have some musical background and even if they don’t become artists in the future, you know for sure the music will help them to be successful in whatever career they choose. As an advice I’d suggest the participant to work on her breathing because it would help her voice to be more stable and smooth, which is important for a singer. The song was melodic and pleasant to hear, the children were performing very cute and I liked their outfits which corresponded to the song and the singer!

Ukraine

Kristall – Evropa

For me the participants from Ukraine, whether it is Junior Eurovision or the actual one, are very special, because they all have powerful vocal, which attracts the audience. Very interesting outfit, which will contribute to her overall performance. The song is dynamic, and catchy. I liked her instrumental, it is very current to the present beats. Good entry!

PART TWO is coming tomorrow!
