One of the next countries to confirm their participation in next year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest is Belgium, after Belgian kids’ broadcaster Ketnet launched it’s search for a new musical talent. Rather than making separate submissions for each of it’s music shows, the channel now has one designated application form that will enter you for all the shows they will air this year.

The rules are very much the same as the ones at Junior Eurovision, with children having to be aged between 10 and 15 years (by December 14th) and groups having no more than 6 members. Also Ketnet says that the participant must:

  • Abide by the age and group member rules.
  • Have their parents agree with the participation at this contest.
  • Inform the broadcaster of their musical background (pop, rock, classical music, dance, hip-hop…)
  • Send in a video of themselves singing a cover or an original song, in the style of the song they would like to sing in one of the music contests.

The applications can be sent until February 18th and one per band or singer must be sent with the video performance to; VRT – Ketnet (zkt muzikaal talent), lokaal 4B29, 1043 Brussel.
Additionally, you can download the application form at the Official Ketnet web site by clicking here
.

After the applications phase is complete, the broadcaster will the inform the stars who make it into the next round and will announce more details regarding the preselection process in due course.

Stay tuned!
