Junior Eurovision: Listen to the Georgian song ‘Mzeo’

Today Georgian Public Broadcaster (GBP) released the official video for the song ‘Mzeo’, which will be the Georgian entry for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016. The song is available here on ESC Daily!

Earlier it had been revealed that Mariam Mamadashvili (10 years old) will represent Georgia at JESC 2016 in Valletta. However, her song remained a secret up until this point. ‘Mzeo’ is a sixties-styled ballad in the atmosphere of The Sound of Music. It was written by Giga Kukhianidze and Maka Davitaia.

Listen to the song below:

Young Mariam already has years of experience under her belt. She has been a singer since she was four years old. Since 2015, she has lived in the United States where she is a student at the Broadway Music Academy in Florida. Mariam will be competing in an attempt to win Georgia’s third Junior Eurovision title. The country previously won the competition in 2008 and 2011.

The selection jury that chose Mariam included Nika Kocharov (Eurovision 2016 with Young Georgian Lolitas), and Lizi Pop, who represented Georgia at Junior Eurovision 2014, which was also held in Malta. The other members of the jury were vocal coach Rusudan Bakhtadze, producer Nato Dumbadze and director Zaza Orashvili.
