After debuting in the kids’ version of the Eurovision Song Contest two years ago, Moldovan broadcaster Teleradio Moldova (TRM) will be continuing their participation for a third time as the contest – which celebrates it’s 10th anniversary this year -makes it’s way to the Netherlands.

The news was confirmed today to ESCDaily.com by Vitalie Cojocaru; Head of Delegation for Moldova at Eurovision events. Whether or not the television station will organise a national selection to choose it’s entry – or whether the participant will be chosen behind closed doors, is yet to be decided.

Moldova debuted in Junior Eurovision in the Belarussian edition of the contest two years ago, represented by Ștefan Roșcovan. Their best result so far however came last year, where child star Lerika (Valeria Engalycheva, pictured) came in sixth place. As she has dual Moldovan-Russian citizenship and is now living in the country, Lerika will now be Russia’s contender this year with the song “Sensatsiya”.

The confirmation of Moldova in the contest brings the number of countries participating up to eleven – two less then last year.

Stay Tuned!
