Junior Eurovision: Three more songs added to Armenian lineup

Armenia’s prime TV company – ‘AMPTV’ are set to host their national selection for this years’ Junior Eurovision Song Contest in two weeks time. Having already selected fourteen young contenders for the show, now the state broadcaster has added another three to the lineup.

The new additions hail from the capital Yerevan and it’s outlying cities, Ashtarak and Etchmiadzin. According to public station ‘A1′, one of the additions – Marine Abrahamyan – was added to the lineup after her song was previously rejected for being ‘too’ serious. Speaking to the channel, vice-president of Abrahamyan’s music studio “Talented Generation”, Liana Stepanyan said; “They [AMPTV] claim that it does not meet the format of the song contest but you cannot find similar formulation among the obligatory requirements.”

The selection show will take place on September 30th on Armenia’s first channel ‘H1′ at 19:30 local time (17:30 CET). The winner of the show will be chosen by a professional jury and SMS voting, each having an equal output in the result.
