Kállay- Saunders: “This was the worst nightmare of my life”

András Kállay-Saunders experienced a difficult night at the finals of Hungary’s preselection A Dal. The singer, who reached top 5 at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2014, gave a poor vocal performance due to technical failure and ended up not winning the ticket to Stockholm. “This was the worst nightmare of my life.”

“At the start of my first performance, I did not hear the music. Therefore I did not know if I was singing in the right key,” said Kállay-Saunders. “And when I got the chance to do it again, it all happened so fast, there was all the stress, and I ruined the whole thing…”

Right now, Kállay-Saunders is feeling disappointed, but his dream to go back to Eurovision lives on. “I want to win the Eurovision Song Contest and I will not stop until that happens. You know me, I will be back.”

For his good friend Freddie, who will represent Hungary in Stockholm, he has nothing but good words. “If it wasn’t me, I was hoping it would be Freddie. I am sure he will do great.”
