Bring on Eurovision 2017! This year’s Eurovision Song Contest will be hosted in the International Exhibition Center in Kiev. The shows will take place in May; with Semi final one on May 9th, Semi final two on May 11th and the Grand Final on May 13th.

Ukraine’s state broadcaster NTU will cover both the hosting logistics and the TV production of the 62nd edition of the show. The city of Kiev will take care of the festivities for attending delegations, press and fans.

Eurovision Song Contest 2017 Kiev logoThe Eurovision Song Contest will have 43 participating countries in 2016. Bosnia & Herzegovina has withdrawn from the contest, but Portugal and Romania are coming back. Australia will join the competition again!

The number 43 is an equaling of the record set in 2008 and 2011. You can find selection details of all the participating countries HERE.


The hosts for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest are Oleksandr Skichko, Volodymyr Ostapchuk, and Timur Miroshnychenko.

Oleksandr Skichko has become a household name in Ukraine through his hosting of popular TV shows such as Wake Up, Star Way and Sing Like A Star. He began his career in entertainment aged 15, and also went on to appear as a semi-finalist on Ukraine’s Got Talent where he won the hearts of millions of Ukrainians with his parody act.

Volodymyr Ostapchuk has enjoyed extensive experience of live shows through his involvement in the entertainment programme Morning with Ukraine, as well as presenting Shopping Goddess and Style Icon. He has had roles as a professional voice artist, including voicing the character of Hans in the Ukrainian version of Disney’s animation Frozen.

Timur Miroshnychenko is a life long fan of the Eurovision Song Contest and has hosted numerous Ukrainian national selections, and both editions of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest that have taken place in Kyiv (2009, 2013). He has also provided Ukrainian commentary for the Eurovision Song Contest, Junior Eurovision Song Contest, Eurovision Dance Contest, and Eurovision Young Musicians. Outside of Eurovision, Timur has presented the live youth talk show Studio 5, as well as the educational programme How Is It Made?

International Exhibition Centre KievKEY LOCATIONS

The venue of the liveshows will be the International Exhibition Center. The expo center is an indoor exhibition center spanning over an area of 58,000 share metres, hosting major exhibitions and trade fairs.

The Kyiv International Exhibition Center is an internationally recognized venue and prides itself as the biggest expo center in Ukraine. The expo center is only a five minutes walk from Livoberezhna underground station at Brovarsky Avenue, and only some stops by metro or 10 minutes away from the centre of the city. It also has good connection with Boryspil International Airport lying at 27 km distance.

The Red Carpet Ceremony will be in Sofiyska Square outside of Saint Sophia’s Cathedral in Kyiv. Here all the contestants present themselves for the press, fans and guests. The Opening Ceremony takes place inside Saint Sophia’s Cathedral – a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Euro Club is the venue for some special parties, the official after parties and performances by participants. Needs official accreditation for access. City of Kyiv plans to house the Euroclub at the CEC Parkovy, an exhibition centre in the Ukrainian capital. The locations for the Eurovision Village and Euro Fan Café have not been revealed yet.
