The first semi-final for Latvia’s national preselection for Eurovision 2012; “Eirodziesma” has just ended. Ten songs took part in the show aired on Latvia’s first channel, hosted by Kristīne Virsnīte and Valters Frīdenbergs. Five of these songs have qualified to the final of the competition, which will be held on February 18th.

09. Ruta Duduma – My world
10. Group ‘PeR’ – Disco Superfly

The qualifiers were chosen by televoting, and a ten member jury – each having a 50% impact on the results. The jury was made up of 5 men and 5 women, and included Emīls Balceris, a member of “Musiqq” who represented Latvia in Eurovision 2011. You can see the juries ranking below:

The second semi-final will take place next Saturday at 20.20 CET, where another five finalists will be chosen.
