Lithuania’s selection for Eurovision 2012 will begin on February 4th, this Saturday, when the first semifinal of the competition will take place. The national final is scheduled to take place on March 3rd, one month after the selection has kicked off.

Yesterday a press conference took place in the capital Vilnius at the LRT club, where the selection details were announced. A total of five shows will take place, with four semifinals on the 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th of February at 20:00 CET. The shows will be prerecorded as they were last year. Overall, no more than 15 will reach the final in 2012, with the voting having a 50/50 split. It is expected around 10 semifinalists will make each show, cutting the 48 acts so far down to 40.

The French representative this year, Anggun, is already scheduled to perform at the final of the Lithuanian National Final.
