Luxembourg was one of the seven countries to take part in the very first Eurovision Song Contest, back in 1956. With 37 appearances, the country has achieved 5 victories, but they decided to send their last entry in 1993, after a series of unsatisfactory results.
The countries’ culture minister has recently made several statements about the Grand Duchy’s participation in Europe’s favourite TV show. Octavie Modert said “Why RTL is not taking part is something they can only answer, but it’s very well known that being an active membership of the EBU, costs a lot of money and this initiative has not been successful in the past for Luxembourg”.
Therefore it’s still unknown if the nation will make a come-back to the contest just yet.
Stay tuned!
