Moldova: Eduard Romanyuta for Vienna

The Moldovan Eurovision selection show O Melodie Pentru Europa 2015 reached it’s final tonight and the winner of the competition was Ukrainian singer Eduard Romanyuta who will now go on to represent Moldova in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the song “I Want Your Love”.

The grand final of the Moldovan competition saw 16 artists competing for the chance to represent Moldova in the Eurovision song contest with an expert jury and viewers votes making up the final result. The jury of experts tipped competitor Valeria Pașa with the song “I Can Change All My Life”, however it was the results of the viewing public which saw Eduard Romanyuta take the victory.

Eduard himself is actually Ukrainian and said in his victory speech that although Ukraine are not participating this year, he hopes to do Moldova proud and bring Eurovision to Moldova. The song “I Want Your Love” is an uptempo dancepop song, during the performance, one of the dancers turns round to reveal herself to be a bearded lady, in a nod to last year’s winner Conchita Wurst.

What do you think of this year’s Moldovan representative? Did the best song win? We look forward to seeing Eduard participating in the first semifinal of Eurovision 2015 on the 19th May.
