Norway: Listen to all of the MGP songs

Wednesday afternoon (15th February), NRK, the national broadcaster in Norway released  clips of all the songs competing in the MGP national selection. Among the acts competing is Ammunition, which features Åge Sten Nilsen (Wig Wam, 2005).

Broadcaster NRK had already made it clear before that Norway would stick to a one-show national selection. In the Grand Final, however, an international jury would be reintroduced. Norway used an international jury twice before, in 1985 and 1995, and won Eurovision in both those years.

The Grand Final will take place on March 11th. On that day, the international jury will first select a shortlist of 4 songs out of the ten finalists. Out of these four, the winning entry for Kiev will be picked through 100% televoting.

Norway’s shaky past

Norway have had three wins since joining Eurovision The most recent and most successful victory came in 2009 when Alexander Rybak performed Fairytale. However the Nordic country has also had their fair share of poor results. Out of all their appearances in Eurovision, they have come last a total of 15 times, and out of those, four times (1963, 1978, 1981 and 1997) they gained ‘Nil Points’.
