Maria Haukass Storeng represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 with the song Hold On Be Strong finishing 5th in the final.

The artist co-hosted the Melodi Grand Prix 2009 (Norwegian national selection) and participated once again one year later as a contestant. Also in 2009, Maria had her try at the Swedish selection at Melodifestivalen alongside Anna Sahlene.

On November 14th Maria will release an album entitled Lys Imot Mørketida (EN: Light against dark time) together with the Norwegian Gospel Choir.
