Poland were last seen in the Eurovision Song Contest a year ago, when the contest took place in the German city of Düsseldorf. After opening the contest (and ending last their semi-final) with Magdalena Tul’s “Jestem“, TV broadcaster TVP chose to sit out of the contest for a year to focus on sports programming instead. However, despite withdrawing from the Baku edition of the event there is still hope that Poland will be back in the contest in Malmö.

In a statement made today by TVP (Telewizja Polska) to ESCDaily.com, the station will be deciding whether or not to return to Europe’s favourite TV show at the end of October – once they have received the appropriate documents regarding next years’ show.

Poland has taken part in Eurovision a total of sixteen times, debuting in 1994. Their best result was also on their first participation – placing in second with “To nie ja!” by Edyta Górniak. Unfortunately, since the addition of semifinals in the competition, Poland has only ever managed to enter the final in 2004 – when they placed within in the top ten of the competition the year before.

Stay Tuned!
