Sonja Škorić wins “Dečja pesma Evrovizije 2010”

Over the past hour and a half on RTS1 and RTS Sat, the Serbian selection for Junior Eurovision 2010, “Dečja pesma Evrovizije 2010″ has taken place. Out of 10 participants, Sonja Škorić won the selection and will go on to represent Serbia in Minsk at the end of November. Her song, “Čarobna noć” (Magical night) won with top marks from both the jury and televote; recieving 345 televotes – just two more than 2nd place act, Boris Subotić.

Sonja Skoric was born on 26th of February, 1996 in Pancevo. She recently finished the 7th grade of elementary school, as well as music school (piano), and the first grade of solo singing. She loves music, and has sang since the age of 5 5.

She performed the first time when she was 5, and the first success came in 2002 on the festival “Raspevano prolece” (Singing spring) where she won. Many other festivals followed after it, where she mostly won: Pancevo, Zajecar, Belgrade (JESC NFs), Nis, Zrenjanin, Zlatibor, Uzice, Tutin, then Laktasi and Banja Luka in Bosnia & Herzegovina, Rozaje and Bijela in Montenegro, Temisoara in Romania, Balchik in Bulgaria, Vitebsk in Belarus, and San Remo in Italy. At “San Remo Junior” in April 2010 she was the only contestant from Serbia. She used to sing in the well known theatre “Ariston”, where she was very noticed.
