The Executive Supervisior of all Eurovision Song Contest events, Svante Stockselius inspected the host city of JESC 2010 Minsk yesterday. It is his 3rd visit to the contest host city. The organizers would like the next Junior Eurovision to become something special.
Svante Stockselius, director of Eurovision, executive producer of the European Broadcasting Union has said “I am very happy with the way Belarus is getting ready for the contest. We have absolutely no problems at the moment. BTRC (Belarussian TV) has worked well in the organisation of the contest, but the list of participating countries for JESC 2010 will be ready in two more weeks. A lot of countries have already confirmed their participation in the contest. That is why I am sure that the contest will take place. We are going to announce the final list of participants in a couple of weeks. We need more time to get in touch individually with every country member of European Broadcasting Union and find out whether we can find a solution”.
According to Mr. Stockselius, he is completely satisfied with the organization, and every time he visits Minsk not to inspect but to co-operate. Executive producer of this year’s contest, Alexander Martynenko also announced a special selection for the “face of the contest”. A photo-session will be produced for the winner of competition and photos of “face of the contest” will be seen on billboards and public transport of the Belarussian capital. Also, BTRC and EBU are conducting their search to find hosts for the contest. It will be a man and a woman with good knowledge of foreign languages; of course English and maybe even French. One of them should have experience of live broadcasting, and the other one will just be a famous person. Alexander Martynenko has also said “Everybody is entitled to taking part in the casting”.
