Swedish broadcaster SVT announced the official hosts of Melodifestivalen 2012 today at a press conference. In 2012, Sarah Dawn Finer, Helena Bergström and Gina Dirawi will be our hosts each evening.

Last night Gina Dirawi had already confirmed the hosting gig via her official blog saying how excited she was with the opportunity at hosting the prestigious show. Gina said hosting the event was a ‘dream’ and also a ‘goal’ of hers. Currently she hosts ‘The Ana Gina’ show and is popular on radio and on television in Sweden.

Joining her is wellknown Swedish singer Sarah Dawn Finer who has participated in the event on two occasions; in 2007 with “I Remember Love” and in 2009 with “I’m Moving On”. Although she did not win in 2009, Sarah received the maximum points from the international jury vote at Melodifestivalen and later that year, Sarah read the votes live on behalf of Sweden for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest broadcast from Moscow, Russia.

Helena Bergström will be the third host and she is a very popular actress in Sweden plus known as the granddaughter of legendary Olof Wildgren. Helen comments “I love to stir the pot. This is the show that engages the Swedish people the most, and being there feels very good to me. I started my career as a host for a youth program in SVT”, she says.

The all female trio will kick off the shows with Heat 1 on February 4th, 2012.
