Slovakia: Three acts shortlisted

Three slovakian acts have been approached by Slovakian broadcaster “RTVS” to compete for the country at Eurovision 2011.

One of the acts is the duo “Twiins”, who in interviews with Slovak website EurovisionSK they seem to be one of the acts approached by the Slovak broadcaster. They also have experience at Eurovision already, after being backing vocalists for Tereza Kerndlová at Eurovision 2008.

The second act shortlisted by RTVS is linked to the last Slovak national final – Mista. Today she revealed to the online version of newspaper Hospodárske that she has indeed been approached by the broadcaster. She also added that her new album will all be in English and she is now working with a ‘well known’ Turkish writer on the album. The title song of her new album is the song “Vendetta”.

The third act that has been approached by RTVS hasn’t been announced yet, but it is confirmed to be one of the artists from ČeskoSlovenská SuperStar (Czechoslovak Pop Idol). This could be Denis Lacho, Dominika Stará, Miro Šmajda, Nikoleta Balogová, Paulína Ištvancová or Thomas Puskailer.

According to paper HN (Hospodárske) the Slovan national broadcaster will choose an entrant out of three shortlisted – the jury that will choose the entrant will be Ľuboš Machaj (Temporary boss at RTVS), two representatives from the old STV (Slovak TV) and two from the old SR (Slovak Radio). The entrant and song should be decided by March.
