• Marilyn Jurman & Karl Kanter – Veel on aega (Marilyn Jurman, Karl Kanter)

One of the participants, “Elmayonesa” is an Argentinian living in Spain and so should be disqualified; Eesti Laul rules state that all performers must be a resident of Estonia to enter. Also, Janne Saar’s song has been online since July (in demo form) – which breaks the “September 1st” rule in Eurovision. Finally, the song by Laika Virgin has been online since 31st August, also breaking the release date rule. There are also some problems with the song “The Storm” sung by Mimicry.

Update: ERR are aware of the songs that are infringing the rules of the competition, and are discussing how to handle the situation. We will know the outcome on this situation by Monday.

The 11 member jury that selected the semifinalists were:
– Toomas Puna (Sky+ Radio)
– Owe Petersell (Elmar Radio)
– Erik Morna (Raadio 2)
– Siim Nestor (Eesti Ekspress newspaper)
– Valner Valme (Postimees newspaper)
– Kaupo Karelson (Ruut music production)
– Ingrid Khtla (ETV, producer of “Eesti Top 7”)
– Kristo Rajasaare (Tallin Music Week)
– Tauno Aints (Composer & Member of Estonian composers union)
– Dawn Raudsepp (Radio 2)
– Hannaliisa Uusma (Singer for “HU?”)
