We may not get to see our 2020 favourites take to the stage, but that doesn’t mean we can’t reminisce on our Eurovision favourites. This series is aimed to discover the team’s favourite entries from the 21st century, from 2001 to 2019.
In collaboration with Eurovision Union, we will be reviewing some of their 21st Century favourites, while over on their site, you will find their reviews of our favourites!
Below our reviews, you will find a poll where you can vote for your favourite Eurovision entry from the 21st Century.

Dennis Reviews Anita’s 21st Century Favourite
Hari Mata Mari – Lejla | 3rd place, 229 points (Final)
The 00’s were the era of the Balkan ballads. One great song was followed by another, and in 2006 the bar was set really high by Hari Mata Hari. Everything about this entry is just gold, when I look at the Eurovision rules. Emotional connection and build-up, both composition-wise and when it comes to camera work. Opening really small, in a dark setting, and closing harmonic with a group feeling. One of the best Eurovision-gems in history. Words can’t describe how amazing this song is to me.
Brandon Reviews Joshua’s 21st Century Favourite
Dalal & Deen ft. Ana Rucner & Jala – Ljubav Je | 11th place, 104 points (Semi-Final)
Such a shame this is the last entry Bosnia ever sent. Actually really like it and definitely better than Deen’s previous attempt. Please don’t be the last you’ll ever send! Barbed wire fencing was… interesting but I really thought this would at least qualify. Hopefully not long until we see you again B&H!
