2000 and Whatever – Lithuania

We may not get to see our 2020 favourites take to the stage, but that doesn’t mean we can’t reminisce on our Eurovision favourites. This series is aimed to discover the team’s favourite entries from the 21st century, from 2001 to 2019.

In collaboration with Eurovision Union, we will be reviewing some of their 21st Century favourites, while over on their site, you will find their reviews of our favourites!

Below our reviews, you will find a poll where you can vote for your favourite Eurovision entry from the 21st Century.

Dennis Reviews Anita’s 21st Century Favourite

InCulto – Eastern European Funk | 12th place, 44 points (Semi-Final)

Hahaha. O no. Well okay, Lithuania did come up with worse than is, but InCulto as your favourite entry? It is a fun, joke entry. Some of the lyrics have a more serious meaning than it seems at first sight. And I like the work they put in their act. The group really got the maximum out of what was possible. But it still was not good enough to qualify. And for me, not good enough to be called the best Lithuanian entry of the decade. Of course not, since this country also gave us Ieva Zasimauskaitė

Brandon Reviews Joshua’s 21st Century Favourite

Monika & Vaidas – This Time | 18th place, 30 points (Final)

To think, you stick two solo artists together on a song and yet the chemistry just WORKED! This was an incredible entry and kudos for the three-couple kiss, especially from Lithuania of all places! Was so heartwarming and loved how it came alive on-stage at Eurovision. Incredible talents from Monika and Vaidas, really hope they come back again for Lithuania, perhaps as solo artists like they originally intended.
