Dennis Reviews Anita’s 21st Century Favourite
The Humans – Goodbye | 11th place, 107 points (Semi-Final)
The vocal power of the lead singer made this song a qualifier for the jury, but televoters were not as impressed. Perhaps because of the strange staging with all the mannequins? At least the deep emotional lyrics were not picked up. ‘Goodbye’ is a song about struggling with depression, overcoming, winning battles that no one knew about. Not able to see the beauty in life, whilst it is all around us. I like this choice by Anita and it still feels somewhat unfair that this song was Romania’s first ever non-qualifier.
Brandon Reviews Joshua’s 21st Century Favourite
Such an incredible entry. Ovi’s a talented songwriter and having Paula with that operatic range on this pop-dance track and make it work desires huge respect! That two-way piano was brilliant and the harmonisation between both singers was just the icing on the cake. One of my fave Romanian entries by far!
