We may not get to see our 2020 favourites take to the stage, but that doesn’t mean we can’t reminisce on our Eurovision favourites. This series is aimed to discover the team’s favourite entries from the 21st century, from 2001 to 2019.
In collaboration with Eurovision Union, we will be reviewing some of their 21st Century favourites, while over on their site, you will find their reviews of our favourites!
Below our reviews, you will find a poll where you can vote for your favourite Eurovision entry from the 21st Century.
Slovenia
Dennis Reviews Anita’s 21st Century Favourite
Maja Keuc – No One | 13th place, 96 points (Final)
What a strong and convincing performance. The song, the vocals, the looks. Everything about this Slovenian entry is good. Maja Keuc slayed the jury vote (4th place!) and should have given Slovenia their best result ever. I don’t understand how the televote managed to oversee this great performance. But I am glad Anita didn’t.
Brandon Reviews Joshua’s 21st Century Favourite
Maraaya – Here For You |14th place, 39 points (Final)
Oh wow… I must admit I cannot stand Maraaya’s voice – that specific frequency just turns me stir-crazy but I have loads of respect for Raay’s songwriting. The song is ace and his works in general are just incredible. Also, wasn’t a fan of the disconnected headphones on-stage just felt it distracted unnecessarily from an otherwise great song.
