France: Amaury Vassili to sing in Corsican

Amaury Vassili will represent France at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest, according to, in an article this evening. In addition to this, the site also state that he will sing in Corsican. The last time a French entrant sang in the same language was in 1993 with the song “Mama Corsica”.

At the age of 21, Amaury is one of the youngest tenors in the world, and France 3 is hoping to present the talent from within the country against this year at Eurovision.

France have undergone a resurgence in Eurovision form over the past two years, with Patricia Kaas and Jessie Matador both re-storing some pride with good finishes.
