According to Armenian news agency news.am, the countries’ state broadcaster AMPTV is currently in discussions regarding their participation in the next Eurovision Song Contest due to take place in Baku next May.
The agency cites Gohar Gasparyan – head of the Armenian delegation at Eurovision and host of the last Junior Eurovision for the information, who says that the status of Armenia in the next edition of the contest will be announced in a press conference before the new year. These discussions are solely regarding the participation of the broadcaster, not over a possible singer for the country.
At the moment, around 40 countries have publicly informed their participation in the 2012 edition of the contest, with many already launching their national selection processes. We expect a full list of all participating broadcasters to be published next week (before the new year) or in the first few days of 2012.
