Australian Katrina Noorbergen not only co-composed the Russian song ‘A million voices’, she is also on stage as one of Polina’s backing vocalists. And of course, she is stating her song is “very special and epic”.
The Sydney ensemble Cassette Kids vocalist was at the Press Meet and Greet of Russia on Tuesday, and also talked about her latest project with Lena Meyer-Landrut, Eurovision-winner in 2010. This Friday, Lena is releasing a new album with eight songs that have been written together with Katrina.
“That came about due to my own project, which she heard a bit of. And Lena said: I want to work with that team, because I really appreciate the sound and workmanship of it. It was intensive, we spend a lot of time together. We had the time and space to develop a close working relationship.”
These weeks, she is working with Polina Gagarina from Moscow, and so far it is going great for Katrina: “I just met Polina, but I can already say she is lovely as well. A very funny girl I must say. It’s contrasting because with Lena I have been working over a long period of time, and with Polina it’s about one very special and epic song!”
