If Australia ever gets the chance to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest again, broadcaster SBS will select an even bigger artist than Guy Sebastian. Thus stated Paul Clarke today at an EBU workshop about how to be succesful in Eurovision.
The fact that Clarke is a proponent of a new Australian participation is not news – during the contest in Vienna, he told ESC Daily that SBS would “take any chance they get to compete again.” At the workshop, which was organized in Berlin, he revealed more details about how Australia would select a hypothetical second entry.
“For us, Australia was riding on a wave of growing excitement for Eurovision and we wanted to deliver something authentic so we chose a big artist. If we were ever invited again, we’d go for an even bigger one.”
