Australia won the first semi final of Eurovision 2019

Australia’s Kate Miller-Heidke won the first semi final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with 261 points, while Czech Republic came second with 242 points and Iceland was third with 221 points.

Just two points was the difference between 10th and 11th place, with Belarus qualifying and Poland missing out on a place in the Grand Final.

Remarkable is the fact that Australia did not win either the jury vote or the televote, but because of discrepancy between both lists, they were the overall winner.
