Austrian broadcaster ORF has announced the preselection dates for the national final to be held in mid-March. The televised search will begin on 20th February and the new representative for Eurovision 2015 will be chosen on 13th March in a split vote.
The selection this year entitles four shows, only one of which is broadcast live, where a number of 20 contestants will compete to wave the Austrian flag in Vienna. The first dates are scheduled for the 20th and 27th of February, followed by the 6th and 13th of March. The winner will be determined by a 50/50 split jury-televote.
The reported focus this year is on searching for artists who are established singers but with no real experience at a venue such as the Song Contest.
