After what can only be described as an “all over the place” national final, Azerbaijan have finally selected their Eurovision entry and the winner is Dilara Kazimova. Dilara beat off competition from Khana Hasanova and Elkin Osmanli to win the ticket to Copenhagen.
Three rounds of performances decided who would be the Azerbaijani representative in Copenhagen, the first two rounds being covers of popular songs with the final round being the artist’s own potential Eurovision entries. A panel of five judges each scored the performances out of 10, giving each artist at the end of the night, a total score out of 150. The final results were as follows:
Erkin Osmanli: 122 points
Dilara Kazimova: 136 points
Khana Hasanova: 129 points
The Böyük Səhnə show was an insane evening filled with over the top performances and plenty of guest performers, including Junior Eurovision entrant Rustam Karimov with the song Me and My Guitar. Dilara now follows in the footsteps of Azerbaijan’s many great Eurovision entrants who have almost all achieved top 5 placings at Eurovision. Dilara will perform in the first half of the first semifinal of Eurovision on the 6th of May in Copenhagen.
