Christer Björkman EBU SVT Eurovision

Christer Björkman has reacted to the ESC Daily news about the plans for an Australian national final, should they stay in Eurovision. Head of Delegation Paul Clarke told us that he hopes Björkman will help Australia set up such a national final.

Björkman replies by saying: ”Right now I lay all my focus on my commitment as the Show and Contest Producer for the ESC in Kiev. It is flattering that Australia has shown an interest and I will talk further with them after the ESC. New Challenges are always exciting.”

He says this to Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, who picked up on our news article yesterday.

“We really admire the way the Swedes do Eurovision,” Clarke explains to us. “I love Melodifestivalen. We were judges there, it is so exciting and passionate. We want our own national final, our own competition that can lead up to a winner for Eurovision. That is, if we are allowed to take part.”
